Vybz Kartel Trial: Key Witness Testifies

The prosecution’s key witness Lamar Chow took the stand today in the high profile murder trial against dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel.

Following an appeal from defense attorney, Tom-Tavares Finson to defer today’s testimony of two expert witnesses, the prosecution says it had a witness which could give his testimony today. Shortly after, chow who was a friend of the victim was quickly brought in to take the stand.

Lamar chow testified to being at Clive Williams’ sister’s house on august 14 2011 with Williams and that both men were scared. He says that Williams contacted Kahira Jones one of the men accused and was talking to him on speaker phone.

He says that Williams was pleading with jones to appeal to Vybz Kartel for leniency.  Chow also says that there were other voices on the phone but he could recognize them.

Testimonies from previous witnesses have stated that Lamar Chow was with Clive Williams two days before Williams’ august 16, 2011 disappearance. He has also been identified in other testimonies as giving a statement to the police which led to the search of premises said to be owned by Vybz Kartel.
