Sleepy, aka Horace Hinds,was renamed Horace Andy by Coxsone Dodd, the producer with whom he would cut his most remarkable tunes. His 1972 ‘Skylarking’ samples the best Studio One tracks. The 70s saw him voicing numerous songs for Bunny Lee, and cutting the classic ‘In The Light’ set for Everton Da Silva. ‘Dance Hall Style’ and ‘Elementary’ are noteworthy albums he released in the 80s. Andy found a new generation of fans in the 1990s, thanks to his work with trip hop pioneers Massive Attack. For The Mad Professor, he voiced the excellent ‘Roots & Branches’ set and in 1999 he released his self-produced ‘Living In The Flood’ album and Mek It Bun in 2002. He also
featured on the world music project, 1 Giant Leap, and on the Easy Star All-Stars 2006 album, Radiodread.
He continues to record new music
