WITHIN hours of his brother’s death, dancehall act Konshens lived up to contractual obligations and jetted off to The Seychelles, islands in the middle of the Indian Ocean. He was scheduled to perform at a pre-Independence show in the Seychelles capital, Victoria.
From all media reports, the artiste gave a great performance.
The Seychelles News Agency reported that the Jamaican artiste didn’t make any reference to his brother’s passing during his performance.
His brother, dancehall deejay Delus (given name Delmark Spence) was found at his Havendale home in St Andrew, with a gunshot wound to his head on Wednesday, June 22. It is suspected he committed suicide.
According to the reports, Konshens dropped inspirational quotes throughout his one-hour-long set during a slight drizzle.
“People, you need to live your life, live your life as best as you can,” was one his quotes between songs.
His set included Bruk Off Yuh Back, Gal A Bubble, Show Yourself, and Couple Up.
Upon departing Jamaica for his overseas gig, Konshens shared his grief on his loss via Instagram.
“No know how mi aggo do dis without u, dawg. But mi aggo do it, cah u love see mi a do it. We can always say u neva affi do dat, but mi prefer seh mi wish u neva affi do dat. Mi know you, if it was so heavy that u think u needed to quit then to hell with it, dawg. REST and rest easy to,” the post read in part.
There is no word yet on his brother’s, Delus’s, funeral arrangements.
