Vybz Kartel is to appear in court tomorrow according to his lawyer Christian Tavares-Finson.
Mr. Tavares-Finson tells Music News that their main focus is to get the dancehall deejay to court so an application for bail can be made.
Vybz Kartel who has been charged with murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of a firearm was expected to appear in the Half-Way-Tree court this morning. The deejay’s lawyer Christian Tavares Finson has indicated that it is not clear as to what prompted the deejay’s nonappearance or why it was said that he was expected to appear in court.
Kartel’s lawyer Christian Tavares-Finson also warns that one has to be careful as it relates to what is being said in court and the media as it may cause the case to be prejudice.
Investigators from the Major Investigation Taskforce (MIT) charged Vybz Kartel on Monday (October 3) with murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of firearm.
A statement from (CCN) says the charges against Kartel were made following the conduct of an interview on Monday afternoon by detectives from the MIT in the presence of his attorneys.
It is alleged that on Monday, July 11, Vybz Kartel, along with other men, conspired to murder Barrington Burton otherwise called Bossie, a 27 year- old businessman/promoter of Gregory Park, in St. Catherine.
Burton was murdered while he was standing with friends along Walkers Avenue in Gregory Park.
