Shaggy yesterday handed over a cheque of $32 million dollars to the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Kingston.
The money was raised through the Shaggy and Friends Concert was held on the lawns of Jamaica House, on January 7.
This year, the proceeds from the concert will help to furnish the new cardiac wing at the hospital, in partnership with, Chain of Hope Jamaica.
Chain of Hope is a group of volunteer doctors and nurses, who perform surgeries each year, on children with heart problems.
To date, the Shaggy Make A Difference Foundation has raised $90 million for the hospital.
The entertainer’s involvement with the Bustamante Hospital dates back to 2001, when on visiting a friend’s son, who had been admitted there, he was moved by the needs of the institution.
